Coverage Options
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION APPLIES TO ALL COVERAGE PLANS:
The following items are not covered by our damage coverage: refrigerators, appliances, exercise equipment, particle board furniture, wood floors, laminate flooring, glass furniture items, contents of containers not packed by our movers, the customer’s home or land of any sort, bicycles, ceramics, plants, lamps & lamp shades, vacuum cleaners, electronics and marble. We strongly recommend transporting these items on your own.
We are not responsible for damaged appliances resulting from disassembly, reassembly, or transport. Please make sure appliance connections are tight. In some cases, it is inevitable that soil will be tracked onto flooring; thus we do not accept liability for this damage. Our liability for damage on “load only” jobs terminates once the truck has been loaded. We highly recommend contacting your insurance agent to obtain a moving endorsement for your current policy.
IMPORTANT: CUSTOMER DECLARATION OF VALUE – PLEASE READ
Federal regulations require every moving customer to select a level of protection for their household goods. This is not insurance. It determines the mover's liability if items are lost or damaged during the move.
You must choose ONE of the following options BEFORE your move:
Option 1: Full (Replacement) Value Protection (Recommended)
This option provides the most complete coverage for your shipment. If items are lost, damaged, or destroyed, we will either repair them, replace them with similar items, or pay you the cost to do so.
Coverage is based on the weight of your shipment x $6.00/lb, with a minimum coverage of $6,000.
You may declare a higher total value.
Additional charges apply. Your estimate will include this cost.
Option 2: Released Value Protection – 60¢ per pound per item (Provided for FREE)
This option is offered at no extra charge, but it provides minimal protection.
If your item is lost or damaged, the maximum you can recover is $0.60 per pound, regardless of actual value.
(Example: A 20 lb. TV worth $500 would only be covered for $12)
NOTICE:
If you do not choose Full Value Protection in writing before the move, your coverage will automatically default to the Released Value Protection (60¢ per pound) level at no cost, and it will be assumed that you have waived Full Value Protection.
By scheduling and proceeding with your move, you acknowledge:
You have been offered both options.
You understand the difference in coverage and cost.
You accept the protection level that applies by default if no written selection is made.
We strongly encourage you to read the official "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" brochure provided by the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration).
